Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is a type of massage technique that uses long, kneading and gentle massage strokes that are believed to promote the release of your body’s natural endorphins. In addition to promoting muscle relaxation, Swedish massage could also improve emotional well-being and mindfulness.
Sports Massage
Sports massage techniques are very similar to the techniques used in Swedish massage, with the main difference being that sports massage uses more pressure to work deep into the tissue and puts focus on more specific areas of the body.
The overall research evidence regarding massage therapy and its benefits over other treatment options (i.e., exercise therapy) had so far been rather limited and indefinite (NCCIH 2018).
